Prime Minister Saad Hariri sent today a cable to the new Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, congratulating him for assuming power, and asking God Almighty to help him in leading Qatar towards further modernization, progress, prosperity and interaction with the neighboring Arab countries. Here is the text of the cable: \"Allow me to present to your Highness and to the people of Qatar my warmest and sincerest wishes on the occasion of your assumption of power, asking God Almighty to help you in leading Qatar towards further modernization, progress, prosperity and interaction with other Arab countries, in order to defend the common issues and strengthen the bonds of solidarity at this exceptional stage for our nation. The state of Qatar has always stood by Lebanon\'s side and accompanied it in the most difficult conditions, providing political, moral and material support. It always embraced thousands of Lebanese who are proud to contribute to the Qatari development, and who will stay loyal to Qatar and its leadership. This loyalty will not be affected by some people denying your historical stands in favor of Lebanon, its State, people and institutions. The decision of your father, His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, to step down and hand power to you, proves the great confidence in you from the part of the Qatari people. We look forward to your efforts in order to develop Qatar and push it forward on the path of development and prosperity to reach your desired goals, thanks to your wide experience and path full of achievements and successes\". Hariri also sent a cable to the new Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al Thani, congratulating him on his new post and wishing him success in his mission.
