Hezbollah rebuffed attempts to link its withdrawal from Syria to getting an extra seat in the Lebanese parliament, saying these are ridiclous attempts. "We do not bargain our national principles," said deputy head of Hezbollah Executive Council Nabil Qaouk. Addressing the March 14 Coalition that made the offer, Sheikh Qaouk said Lebanon will not pay the price of the failure of the coalition's policies in Syria. "You have to blame the US and its allies who promised you that Syria will be attacked and that the regime will fall apart". He accused the coalition of delaying efforts to forma national unity government in Lebanon. Hezbollah's chief Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah made it public in May that his party is fighting alongside troops loyal to President Bashar Assad against the armed Syrian opposition.
