French President Francois Hollande on Monday sent a message of "warm congratulations" to the Tunisian people after that country earlier adopted a new Constitution.Tunisia, which was embryonic in the birth of the so-called "Arab Spring," has laboured for over two years to draw up a document acceptable to all parties in the Tunisian society.Hollande said in a statement that "the text lays the foundation for a democracy that respects the rights and freedoms of all its citizens (and) is an important step in completing the political transition that was started by the Tunisian revolution." The French leader also praised the responsible spirit of all those who took part in the process to draw up the new Constitution and he promised France would stand by Tunisia in this important moment in its history.
