Hong Kong Customs said on Saturday that more than 4 kilograms of drugs worth about 5.2 million HK dollars (about 0.67 million U.S. dollars) were seized on Friday. Officers of Customs Drug Investigation Bureau smashed a drug manufacturing center in a domestic flat in Tai Kok Tsui on Friday and seized about 2.8 kilograms of cocaine, 1.6 kilograms of crack cocaine and some drug-manufacturing apparatus. Officers later escorted the suspect to his residence nearby and seized another 300 grams of crack cocaine. The Group Head (Drug Investigation) of the Customs Hui Wai-ming said that the suspect was arrested for drug manufacturing and trafficking. The case is still under investigation. Under Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, both drug manufacturing and trafficking are serious offences. The maximum penalties of both offences are life imprisonment and a fine of 5 million HK dollars.
