Hundreds of people on Friday marched up in the U.S. Motor City of Detroit, kicking off the campaign of \"Occupy Detroit\", a local spinoff of the protest that started on Wall Street and has since spread around the country. Approximately 500 people met outside the Coleman A. Yough Municipal Center and were heading to Grand Circus Park with plans to occupy it indefinitely, reported The Detroit News on Friday. The protesters carried signs that said \"Tax the Rich More\" and \"I\'m not a politician or a corporation. I pay my taxes. Let them pay too.\" \"This is the only place I felt like I\'ve had a voice in my whole life. Corporations don\'t give me a voice. Government doesn\'t give me a voice,\" said a young protester. Earlier on Friday, organizers met with police and City Council members to arrange for food, medical care and Internet access. Protesters also planned an occupation of Flint, a city in North Detroit, on Friday and one in West Detroit\'s Lansing will be held on Saturday.
