The inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will visit Tehran, foreign policy spokesman for the German Liberal Party (FDP), Rainer Stinner said on Thursday. Stinner made the remarks at a roundtable of Phoenix television network held in Berlin. Referring to a meeting held between IAEA chief, Yukio Amano and the representatives of the European Union, he noted that as Amano had mentioned IAEA inspectors will arrive in Tehran on Friday morning to investigate Iran’s nuclear activities. According to Stinner, Amano had told German parliamentarians that the success of IAEA inspectors in their visit to Iran depends Iran’s cooperation with them. He said that FDP supports efforts aimed at settling Iran’s nuclear energy issue. Diplomatic sources had previously announced that senior officials of IAEA would pay a visit to Tehran on January 28. The visit by IAEA inspectors will take place at a time when the West is implementing new round of sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran with the aim of striking a blow on Iran’s energy sector.
