IICO chief affirms Kuwait\'s support to Syrians

The President of International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) Dr. Abdullah Al-Maatouq said Tuesday the capacity of a ward in Al-Jazeera hospital, funded Kuwaiti philanthropists, in Amman has been increased to treat wounded Syrians. Al-Maatouq comment came during a visit by the Kuwaiti delegation to the hospital, part of the official visit to Jordan, Al-Maatouq said in a statement to KUNA. Al-Maatouq said that the ward reflects Kuwaiti support to the Syrian people, stressing that \"Kuwaiti support for the Syrians will continue until the end of the crisis.\" The official noted that the delegation was briefed on the conditions of wounded Syrians, on their needs, and a pledge by hospital administration to increase the capacity of ward. For his part, IICO Director General Dr.Othman Al-Hajji said that IICO agreed to continue support of the hospital during a meeting with the Kuwaiti delegation and Al-Jazeera hospital administration, describing the meeting as fruitful. Al-Maatouq, who is also Amiri Diwan Advisor, inaugurated yesterday a Kuwaiti village at Al-Zaatari Camp.
