India, China to hold border talks

India and China are set to hold two-day border talks in New Delhi on Tuesday, government sources said. The talks are being held in the wake of Indian accusations that the Chinese army has been repeatedly intruding into parts of Indian administered Kashmir, and other north eastern provinces, officials said. The meet will witness the participation of representatives from the countries\' two armies, diplomats and intelligence officers, added the sources. Indian local media had reported that India will raise the issue of border incursions at Ladakh and other northeastern states and will also present its views on a \"Chinese proposal for a border defence co-operation agreement.\" Earlier, the media, quoting defence sources, reported that Chinese troops had intruded into Kashmir\'s Ladakh region on three occassions over the last five days, most recently on July 20. Meanwhile, the Indian government has approved the formation of the \'Mountain Strike Corps\', comprising of 40,000 soldiers who will be posted along the borders to counter China\'s influence.
