Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh made an aerial survey of the north-eastern state of Sikkim, which was hit by a massive earthquake on September 18, killing around 90 people and rendering losses to property to the tune of USD several millions. According to a Press Trust of India (PTI) report, the Premier also met the quake victims recuperating in a hospital. Around 200 injured are receiving treatment at the hospital. He surveyed some of the worst-affected areas like Lachung, Lachen, Chungthang and Dzongu of the state. The quake of 6.8 magnitude on the Richter Scale had its repercussions felt in neighbouring country Nepal also.
