Indian PM: Pakistan must not allow anti-India activity

The Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday said relations with neighboring Pakistan would only improve if it does not allow its territory for any anti-India activity. \"For relations with Pakistan to improve, it is essential that they prevent the use of their territory and territory under their control for any anti-India activity,\" Prime Minister said during the speech on the 67th Independence day of India in New Delhi. Pointing towards the killing of five Indian soldiers, he said recently, there was a dastardly attack on our troops on the Line of Control with Pakistan. \"We will take all possible steps to prevent such incidents in the future,\" Singh said. LOC is a de-facto border dividing Kashmir into Indian and Pakistani parts. The ties between India and Pakistan dipped a new low on August sixth over the killing of five Indian soldiers along the disputed Kashmir border. India accused Pakistani Pakistan Army for killing of soldiers, a statement vehemently denied by Pakistan. It was followed by regular ceasefire violations along the LOC. Troops of both the countries have used light to medium weaponry and exchanged gunfire claiming and counter-claiming that their opponents were responsible for ceasefire violations.
