A son of Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has quit from the parliament due to a presentation accident, the president said here on Thursday. Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono, known as Ibas and a member of Commission One in charge of politics and foreign affairs, has been blamed for not entering a preliminary session during which he only asked his aid to register his name at the presentation list. President Yudhoyono said a family meeting was done in recent days to take responsibility on the case. \"Overall, we decided the right thing to do is resignation of Ibas from the House of Representative, and it is an initiative coming from Ibas,\" said Yudhoyono. \"As the father I am proud of Ibas responsibility and beg an apology for the \"presentation accident\", said Yudhoyono. President Yudhoyono said his son has worked hard to deliver the interests of his constituents since his membership in the parliament in 2009. Yudhoyono said it has been a hard time for him and his family in recent months, particularly on the political arena, but he would be ready to face the challenges and would keep complying with his work by the end of his term in 2014. President Yudhoyono and other Democratic Party top leaders have struggled to restore the image of the party which has been eroded due to many of its high profile members\' implication on graft cases. According to a leading survey, his party\'s popularity has been down to 8 percent to third rank after Golkar Party and the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle from the first position in 2009\'s polls.
