Russian Ambassador to Bahrain Vagif Garaev thanked the Interior Ministry for its swift response to the Russian embassy’s request to investigate the fate of a Russian female national who was in Bahrain and who, according to Russian mass media allegations, disappeared.
The Russian ambassador said Russian mass media reported today the disappearance of 21-year-old Russian girl Maria Suzanova who arrived in Bahrain on February 17 and whose family say they have no news of her. He added that the Interior Ministry was promptly notified by the Russian embassy to find about the fate of the girl.
The Russian ambassador commended rapid response of the security authorities at the Interior Ministry who affirmed that the Russian national had left for Jordan on March 3. He also demanded the Russian mass media to adhere to accuracy in what they publish by getting information from official sources for, he said, such inaccurate news are likely to have a negative impact on the good relations between both countries. He added that he had informed the Russian News Agency about the Russian national and the Interior Ministry’s efforts and cooperation in this respect.
