Deputies of the top negotiators from Iran and the 5+1 member states are to meet here on Tuesday, news sources told Iranian News Agency (IRNA) today. Ali Baqeri and Helga Schmidt are, respectively, to represent Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili and the EU Foreign Policy Commission chief Catherine Ashton in tomorrow talks. Jalili and Ashton have so far held three rounds of talks in Istanbul, Baghdad and Moscow. During their last round of talks in Moscow held on June 17-18, the two decided to continue their future talks in different phases including holding meetings between experts of the two sides followed by a meeting between Baqeri and Schmidt. Jalili and Ashton also decided to have a telephone conversation at the end of Baqeri-Schmidt’s meeting to discuss the outcome of their talks. The two deputies are to exchange views on ways to remove disagreements and make progress in the next round of bilateral talks. The time and venue of the next round of talks between top negotiators of Iran and 5+1 (US, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany) would be fixed after Baqeri and Schmidt reached an agreement on the agenda tomorrow.
