
An Iranian diplomat has been killed in a terrorist attack in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa on Saturday, according to an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson. The diplomat "was killed after he was attacked by a group of terrorists, who tried to abduct him, at the Yemeni capital Sanaa," said the spokeswoman. The attack occurred as the diplomat was on board an embassy car. He died after succumbing to serious injuries as a result of the attack, however, the fate of his driver, also said to have been injured in the attack was not revealed. The ministry expressed its sorrow over the incident, adding it would be monitoring the situation closely.
