The Iranian Foreign Ministry has “strongly” condemned the Israeli regime’s new plans to construct more illegal settlement units in the occupied Palestinian territories, the Press TV reported. Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said on Sunday that Tel Aviv’s recent decision to further expand illegal settlements is “strong proof of the regime’s ongoing aggression" against Palestinians. She called on the United Nations and other international and human rights bodies to show a serious reaction to the Israeli regime’s illegal actions and stop expansion of settlements. On January 9, the Israeli rights group, Peace Now, said the Tel Aviv regime’s Housing Ministry had announced the construction of over 1,076 units in the illegally annexed East al-Quds (Jerusalem) and 801 more in the occupied West Bank.
