Iran, Ghana call for broadening bilateral ties

Ghanaian Parliament Speaker Edward Doe Ajaho and Iranian Industries, Mines and Trade Minister Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh said they are hopeful to see bolstering relations between the two friendly counties in all the various fields in the near future. During the meeting in Tehran on Wednesday, Ajaho said the necessary measures would be undertaken for the establishment of a joint business council between Iran and Ghana. “Iran has largely gained experience in mining exploration, which is ready to share it with friend countries,” Nematzadeh said. “Ghana is rich in bauxite and manganese mines and Iran is ready to dispatch expert groups to that country to determine methods of cooperation in the aforementioned fields,” the Iranian official added. The Ghanaian parliament speaker arrived in Tehran at the head of a high-ranking delegation on Monday. Tehran has prioritized promotion of its economic and political ties with the African states and the country is now considered as one of the African Union (AU)\'s strategic partners. Tehran\'s efforts to boost ties and cooperation with Africa have led to its acceptance as an observing member of the AU, where it has shown an active presence in the AU summit meetings.
