Iran, Iraq keen to expand security ties

Iran\'s Iranian Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi and Iraqi National Security Advisor Faleh Fayyaz in a meeting in Baghdad explored the avenues for bolstering and reinvigoration of bilateral relations, specially security ties.During the meeting in the Iraqi capital on Monday, Moslehi and Fayyad underlined the need for expansion of Tehran-Baghdad relations, specially in the security field.The Iranian intelligence minister said his visit to Baghdad was aimed at holding talks with the Iraqi officials on further strengthening of mutual cooperation between the two countries, specially in the intelligence and security fields.Fayyaz, for his part, deemed as \"very important\" the expansion of bilateral ties between Iran and Iraq\"Iran is one of few countries in the region that transfers its positive experiences to Iraq,\" the Iraqi official said.Moslehi, heading a delegation, arrived in Baghdad late Monday. During his stay in Baghdad, Moslehi is slated to hold talks with Iraqi officials, including Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and Head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Ammar al-Hakim.Iran and Iraq have enjoyed growing ties ever since the overthrow of the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, during the 2003 US invasion of the Muslim country.
