Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi has denounced insulting Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), asserting that the main goal of those who made the offensive film was creating a rift among Muslim, Christian, and Jewish communities. "It goes without saying that we like other Muslims throughout the world are very regretful that a Zionist has disrespected the holiest sanctity of Islam, the holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)," Rahimi made the remarks in the cabinet meeting in Tehran aired by radio on Monday. Rahimi pointed out that the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran condemns this unacceptable and insulting act to the holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and will surely pursue and prosecute the culprit for who has insulted the prophet and his nation of 1.5 billion Muslims in the world. The First Vice President noted that it goes without saying that if the Americans want to show their sincerity and prove respect towards religions, they should bring the culprit to justice.
