At the meeting with the sextet of international mediators in Almaty Iran has presented to the sextet of international mediators its plan and proposals for starting a new phase of cooperation, the deputy secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Bagheri, told a news briefing on Friday. “In the morning the secretary of the Supreme Council, Saeed Jalili, acting on behalf of Iran presented a plan and proposals for starting new cooperation with the sextet,” Bagheri said. “These proposals are part and parcel of the comprehensive plan proposed back at the Moscow round.” “In today’s talks Iran put the emphasis on three issues – the start of the process, the dimension of the process, and the results,” the diplomat said. “Iran believes that confidence building measures is precisely what both countries should take,” Bagheri said. “The negotiations will go on today and, if need be, tomorrow. The parties will be able to exchange opinions and create a new platform for cooperation.”
