Iran president to talk to US if pressure stops

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that he is ready to have direct talks with the United States, but only based on justice and respect, not on pressure and imposition. Ahmadinejad made his comments at a rally marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic revolution, after Iran\'s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei effectively closed the door on direct talks with Washington as long as sanctions against Iran remained in place. The US has recently called for direct talks with Iran, but Ahmadinejad told the rally that was not enough. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran\'s President, said, \"I say this candidly: the improvement in the United States\' remarks and their way of talking is necessary, but it is not enough. When the US pulls away the gun from the face of the Iranian nation, I will talk to the US in person. Dialogue should be based on justice and respect, not on pressure and imposition. We are already nuclear, so what is the U.S.\'s confrontation with us supposed to mean? Efforts by the US were intended not to allow us to go nuclear. But we did. Now is not the time for conflict and confrontation. The best way forward for the US and us is interaction and cooperation. This is better for the U.S.. Everyone would benefit from cooperation, but the US would lose if confrontation happens.\"
