
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif's regional tour was to put the basis for security and peace in the region, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said Tuesday. Iran's priority in terms of its relations with neighboring countries aims to open a new page in relations with Kuwait, Qatar and Oman, Afkham said in a weekly press conference, noting that Zarif was due to visit the UAE tomorrow. Regarding a visit to Saudi Arabia, the spokeswoman said that such visit needs arrangements but it will take place on the specified date which will be announce later. The spokeswoman also noted that the visit will be the basis for developing Tehran-Riyadh relations. Afkham added Tehran received an invitation to participate in the Manama Dialogue Forum, noting that Iran will send a Foreign Ministry Adviser for the meeting. Meanwhile, the spokeswoman denied reports that US President Barack Obama would visit Iran, describing the reports as "fabrication and completely baseless."
