Iran’s Ambassador to Iran Ghazanfar Roknabadi said on Wednesday that Tehran-Riyadh ties are excellent and based on mutual respect and the US officials should know that their allegations against Iran will get nowhere. He made the remarks after a meting with the Lebanese Tourism Minister Fadi Abboud. Talking to reporters, he said that the US’ claim about Iran’s attempt to assassinate the Saudi Arabian ambassador in the US is in no way true. The US has taken aim at Iran, Syria and the resistance forces in the region, he noted. The White House says that Iran hired a Mexican drug cartel to assassinate Saudi Arabian envoy in Washington. Iran dismissed the claim as childish and clumsy game. Elsewhere in the meeting, Roknabadi called for adopting mechanism to facilitate issuance of visas for the tourists and holding tourism exhibitions in Tehran and Beirut. Roknabadi and Abboud discussed practical issues consistent with the goal of developing cooperation in tourism sector. Aboud welcomed the idea of holding exhibits in both countries. Meanwhile, Iranian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Mohammad Khazaee expressed outrage to United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, President of the United Nations Security Council, Mrs. Ogawu, and President of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Nasser, in identical letters saying that the US warmongering policies in the international community will jeopardize the International peace and security. Khazaee warned against consequencies of the US warmongering policies on the international peace and security.
