Iranian armed forces warn enemy to avoid erring

The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces stressed in a statement released on the occasion of the National Army Day that the country\'s Army and other military units will give a crushing response in case \"enemies\' make a strategic mistake against Iran\".The enemies of the Islamic Revolution and the Iranian nation should know that the brave army of the Islamic Republic together with other Armed Forces and defenders of the ruling system and the Islamic homeland… will give a decisive, crushing and firm response to their strategic mistake,\" the military body said in its statement.The statement lauded the Army\'s achievements in repairing, restructuring, reconstructing, renovating and updating its units, and reiterated that the Army, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and Basij (volunteer) force have boosted national self-confidence and the country\'s defensive structure and its power of deterrence.Iranian officials and commanders have warned that any enemy move, even the slightest aggressions, against the Islamic Republic would be reciprocated with a destructive response and will endanger the US interests all around the world.Israel and its close ally the United States accuse Iran of seeking a nuclear weapon, while they have never presented any corroborative document to substantiate their allegations. Both Washington and Tel Aviv possess advanced weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear warheads.Iran vehemently denies the charges, insisting that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only. Tehran stresses that the country has always pursued a civilian path to provide power to the growing number of Iranian population, whose fossil fuel would eventually run dry.Both Israel and the US have recently intensified rhetoric against Iran, saying an attack on the Islamic Republic\'s nuclear site is impending.Iran has, in return, warned that it would target Israel and its worldwide interests in case it comes under attack by the Tel Aviv.Iran has also warned that it could close the strategic Strait of Hormuz if it became the target of a military attack over its nuclear program.Strait of Hormuz, the entrance to the strategic Persian Gulf waterway, is a major oil shipping route.
