An Iranian parliamentary delegation is scheduled to pay an official visit to Ankara next week. The Iranian delegation will depart for Turkey at the invitation of Co-Chairman of Turkey-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group Othman Askin Bak to confer with their Turkish counterpart on the further expansion of bilateral ties between the two nations, particularly in parliamentary domain. The Iranian parliamentary delegation will be led by Moayed Hosseini Sadr, the Iranian Co-Chairman of Iran-Turkey Parliamentary Friendship Group. During their stay in Turkey, the Iranian parliamentarians will hold talks with Turkish officials on parliamentary cooperation as well as cultural issues. Iranian MPs are due to hold consultations with Turkish Parliament Speaker Jamil Chichak and some of the heads of the parliamentary commissions and the Turkish cabinet ministers. The Iranian delegation will also travel to Konya to visit the tomb of Iranian renowned poet and mystic Molana Jalal ad-Din Rumi (1207-1273). In September, Chichak arrived in Tehran at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani. The Turkish speaker has separate meetings with senior Iranian officials, including President Hassan Rouhani, the Iranian parliament speaker, and Chairman of Iran's Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani. Iran and Turkey have broadened their relations in various fields of economy, security, trade, education, energy, and culture in recent decades. The two sides have exchanged numerous politico-economic delegations during the last few years.
