
Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri in a message to Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama underlined Tehran\'s willingness to further develop relations with Tirana. In his message, Jahangiri congratulated Rama on his appointment to the post, and said given the capacities of the two countries, Iran always welcomes promotion of bilateral ties. He also expressed the hope that bilateral relations will further expand in all fields during his tenure in office. Jahangiri wished the Albanian government and nation success and dignity. In a relevant development in November 2010, Albanian Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Tirana Ali Amouyee called for the further expansion of mutual cooperation between the two countries. Describing Iran as the cradle of global civilization and valuable wealth in human culture, he said that Tirana mulls expanding economic cooperation with Iran.
