Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi’s message on US allegation, that Iran hired a Mexican drug cartel to assassinate Saudi ambassador to Washington, was conveyed to his Lebanese counterpart Adnan Mansour on Thursday. Iranian Ambassador to Beirut, Ghazanfar Roknabadi conveyed Salehi’s message to the Lebanese foreign minister. Meanwhile, the Iranian ambassador discussed the latest regional and international developments in the meeting with Lebanese foreign minister. Lebanese foreign minister said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has positive role in the regional and international affairs, adding that no diplomat will believe the US allegation. Iranian ambassador to Lebanon said that the US fabricated the scenario as an effort to hide its internal problems. Roknabadi said that the US officials have refused to make available the evidences against an Iranian national in this case to Iranian officials. Salehi\'s upcoming visit to Lebanon was also discussed between Roknabadi and Mansour. US officials claimed last Tuesday that Iran has tried a plot including an assassination attempt against the Saudi ambassador to the United States, Adel al-Jubeir, with a bomb and subsequent bomb attacks on Saudi and Israeli embassies in Washington. Iranian officials have strongly dismissed the US allegations as a fabricated scenario which is totally unfounded and described it as worn-out approaches which are based on the old hostile American-Zionist attempt to sow discord among Muslims.
