Iraqi national security advisor Saleh Al-Fayyadh arrived in Cairo from Damascus for talks with Arab League officials on means of addressing the conflict in Syria. A member of Al-Fayyadh''s delegation, who refused to be named, told reporters at the airport the Iraqi and Arab League sides would discuss an Iraqi initiative to ending the conflict in Syria. He said the Iraqi initiative aimed at finding peaceful solutions for the crisis in Syria to honor aspirations of the Syrian people for democracy away from sectarian sedition and foreign intervention. Al-Fayyadh met with Al-Assad earlier in the day and offered the initiative which aimed at starting dialogue between the government and opposition.
