MP for National Alliance Hadi Yasari has warned Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan of interfering in Iraq's domestic affairs and not to insult national figures. Erdogan on Wednesday accused his Iraqi counterpart Nouri Maliki of acting to provoke civil war in Iraq in the wake of an increased tension between Baghdad and the Kurdistan government. Erdogan also voiced concern a war for oil can erupt in Iraq. Erdogan's statements were considered interference in Iraq's affairs that Yasari could not accept. Maliki represents all the Iraqi people and any insults to him are insults to Iraqis as well, Yasari said. Erdogan is seeking to revive the glories of Ottoman Empire, Yasari charged, noting that this is something Iraq won't accept. Iraq is an independent and sovereign state, the MP stressed, urging Erdogan to stop inciting sectarian tension between Iraqis.
