Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama Al-Nujaifi on Tuesday called for establishing stronger ties with Kuwait. Al-Nujaifi, speaking during a meeting with the new Kuwaiti ambassador to Iraq, Ghassan Al-Zawawi, called on the Kuwaiti diplomatic mission to carry on fruitful activities within framework of mutual cooperation between the two neighboring countries. The speaker congratulated ambassador Al-Zawawi on assuming the post and expressed hope the Iraqi-Kuwaiti ties would be bolstered, in the foreseeable future, for serving the two states' joint interests. He also hoped the mission would capitalize on accomplishments of the former ambassador by means of mutual cooperation. The two sides discussed regional security and political issues as well as forthcoming legislative elections in Iraq.
