Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi met here today with Gen. Joseph Votel, Commander of the US Central Command, currently visiting Iraq.
The meeting reviewed the political and security developments in Iraq, especially military operations currently underway to liberate the city of Mosul from the control of the ISIS militants as well as the issue of arming and training the Iraqi armed forces and the situation in the region.
Abadi also met here today with a female delegation from the US Congress headed by Martha Robbie. The importance of supporting Iraqi women and their role in Iraqi society and state-building were also emphasized.
