IRGC commander blames US for nuclear crisis in Korean Peninsula

A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) took the US responsible for sparking tension in the Korean Peninsula.Speaking to reporters on Monday, IRGC Lieutenant Commander Brigadier General Hossein Salami said the crisis between the US and North Korea is taking place according to a scenario of psychological operation which has been created by Washington.Through sparking nuclear disputes, they (Americans) want to tell the world that countries at such levels (that North Korea is) cannot have the nuclear energy, and this is a psychological operation pursued by the Americans,\" Salami underscored.North Korea released a chain of threats since Seoul and Washington began joint military drills last month.Tensions began escalating on after new UN sanctions were imposed on North Korea in response to a long-range rocket launch in December. North Korea responded by carrying out a third nuclear test in February, which was followed by more sanctions.North Korea recently warned it has weapons on standby and aimed at its foes if provoked.
