Israel prepares for possibility of Assad\'s fall

Israel announced here on Monday that it is taking all needed measures to prepare the country for the eventuality of the fall of the Assad regime in Syria. Radio Israel quoted Commander in Chief of the Israeli Air Force Major-General Aluf Amir Eshel as saying this morning that the Air Force will counter any attempt to transfer advanced weapons from the hands of the Syrian regime to any terrorist organization. Hezbollah had lately transferred all the weaponry it possess to populated areas, as an attempt to avoid Israeli attack, he affirmed. According to Radio Israel, Eshel\'s statements came within a report on the strategic situation in the region which he presented to former senior officers in the United States Army, currently visiting Israel.
