Israel urges Abbas to return to negotiations

Israeli high-level political sources have urged Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to return to the negotiating table without preconditions. According to the Israeli Radio, the call came after the Palestinian President’s statements in which he said that “Palestinians’ hands are outstretched for peace.” The sources said that Abbas will be able to raise all the issues on the negotiating table, including the issue of settlement construction. The sources also asserted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s readiness to meet Abbas immediately and at any venue.
