The Israeli army destroyed early Monday the entire Bedouin dwelling known as Makhoul, in the northern Jordan Valley, and dislocated all of its 120 residents, according to Aref Daraghme, head of al-Maleh village council. He said soldiers surprised the residents at the early hours, forced them out of their dwellings before destroying the tents and metal shacks they used as shelters for themselves and their livestock. The residents were not notified in advance of this measure, he said. Palestinian news agency (WAFA) quoted Daraghme as saying that this is not the first time the Makhoul dwelling is destroyed and its residents removed by force from their land. Eyewitnesses in the region said that the Israeli occupation forces sealed off the area in front of journalists and citizens and declared it a military zone.
