Israeli court rejects bid to ban film

The Jerusalem District Court rejected a request from a Muslim member of Parliament to temporarily ban online availability of an anti-Muslim film. Knesset member Talab El-Sana and several Muslim clerics in Israel asked for a temporary injunction to prevent viewing the film \"Innocence of Muslims,\" which has sparked protests throughout the Middle East, on the Internet, the Israeli news agency Ynetnews reported Friday. An injunction would have prevented Internet users from seeing the film until the court sought a permanent ban but the judge postponed a ruling until a response from the Google Inc. is submitted, the news agency said. Google is the owner of YouTube, the Internet website where a portion of the inflammatory film first appeared.
