Israelis attack shepherd in northern West Bank

A 20-year-old Palestinian shepherd was injured on Friday after being attacked by Israelis in the northern West Bank, medics said. Red Crescent medics told Ma\'an that Mahdi Daraghma was beaten by Israelis from the Mehola settlement in the northern Jordan Valley while he was tending his sheep. Daraghma was moderately injured and transferred to a Jenin hospital, they added. On Dec. 5, Israeli settlers kidnapped a 60-year-old shepherd south of Nablus, and stole all 50 of his sheep, local officials said. Some 500,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. There are about 2.5 million Palestinians in the same territory. All settlements are considered illegal under international law.
