Israel's Vice Prime Minister Shaul Mofaz, now on a visit to the US, has had an impromptu meeting with President Barack Obama in Washington on Thursday. Mofaz was in talks with US National Security Advisor Tom Donilon at the White House just three minutes before Obama joined the meeting, Israel Radio reported tonight. The 35-minute long talks focused on Middle East issues and the efforts of the Israeli national unity government to revive the peace talks with the Palestinians. The two men also dealt with the standoff between the Western countries and Iran over the latter's nuclear program, according to the report.
