Secretary of Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili , on Monday reiterated his country's support to the Syrian government's track in solving the crisis according to an integrated political program through holding a comprehensive dialog with the national opposition and the efforts to restore security and stability to Syria. During a meeting with Syria's ambassador in Tehran Adnan Mahmoud, Jalili stressed the firm and strategic relations between Syria and Iran, indicating that Syria's steadfastness for two years is due to the strong bond between the people and their leadership. "The Western countries realized that they would not be able to undermine Syria as it is stronger than what they imagine," Jalili said, asserting that the West and their tools in the region made mistakes in supporting terrorism in Syria with money and weapons. For his part, Mahmoud expressed appreciation over Iran's stance in support of Syria in the face of the western- American unprecedented war. He stressed the importance of enhancing the strategic relations between the two countries, particularly in the economic fields and the implementation of the agreements signed in this regard.
