Japan facilitates permanent residency for skilled foreigners

The Japanese Government has decided to facilitate the granting of permanent residency to highly skilled foreign specialists after just one year of their stay rather than the current five years.
The new law will be applied from next year under a "strategic growth" policy adopted by the Japanese Government.
