Japanese Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba left cairo on Friday, wrapping up a two-day visit to Egypt during which he held talks with Prime Minister Dr. Kamal Al Ganzouri and Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr focussing on means of bolstering and developing relations between the two countries and a host of other regional issues of mutual concern. During the visit, Gemba also met with Arab League Secretary-General Dr. Nabil Al Arabi earlier Thursday and reviewed he latest developments in the region with emphasis on the situation in syria and means of further deepening the arab-japanese relations in the various domains. The talks also dealt with the preparations to hold the next session of the Arab -Japamese Economic Forum, slated for Tokyo later this year. The forum will focus on bilateral cooperation in the diplomatic field and the coordination of positions in international fora on the issues of common interest, deepen economic and cultural cooperation between the two sides The Japanese FM flew into cairo earlier Wednesday leading an official delegation for talks with the egyptian officials and the arab league chief.
