Japanese, French top diplomats meet on ties

Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida and his French counterpart Laurent Fabius met here Tuesday and they agreed to enhance bilateral relations. At their meeting that called the third foreign ministerial strategic dialogue between Japan and France, the two foreign ministers agreed to issue a joint document during French President Francois Hollande\'s visit to Japan from June 6 to 8. The two foreign policy chiefs said the two countries will strengthen information sharing so as to protect safety of the two countries\' companies operating in Asia and Africa. On regional affairs, they said that the Democratic People\'s Republic of Korea (DPRK) should not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons and the international community should continue to send the message. Earlier the day, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe also held talks with Fabius, saying Japan is willing to promote ties with France.
