Eight Taliban militants were killed and five others were injured in joint operations in Afghanistan during the past 24 hours, the Afghan Ministry of Interior announced today. The Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army, Afghanistan's National Directorate of Security (NDS) and Coalition Forces launched nine joint clearance operations in Kabul, Kandahar, Logar, Paktiya, Herat, Helmand and Nimroz provinces, the Ministry said in a statement. Also, during these operations, the Afghan National Police discovered and confiscated eight different types of weapons. No injuries were reported among the forces.
