Jordan and China are set to enhance their cooperation in security and police work. The issue was the focus of talks on Monday between His Majesty King Abdullah and Supreme Commander of the Chinese Police Forces Wang Jiaping and the accompanying delegation. During the meeting, the two sides also discussed cooperation in the field of police training, a Royal Court statement said. According to the Chinese embassy in Jordan, there is already an ongoing cooperation in the field of military training between the two sides, with officers exchanging visits and talks. Present at the meeting were Royal Court Chief Khaled Karaki, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. General Mashal Al Zaben and Director General of the Gendarmerie Department Major General Tawfiq Tawalbeh, along with Chinese Ambassador in Amman Yue Xiaoyong. The Chinese delegation met separately with Tawalbeh, who briefed them on the department’s mandate, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
