Jordanian government strongly denounced today the Israeli government decision of planning to build 1500 settlement units in the occupied city of Al-Quds. Mohammed Al-Momeni, spokesman of the government, said, in a press statement, that the Israeli settlement decisions are null and void, formulating direct threat to peace process and challenging the world community will as well as international pertinent resolutions. Al-Momeni confirmed that all the world reject settlements and consider them illegal as they form the major obstacle before the peace process and the two-state solution, adding that the Israeli approach is aiming at changing the reality on the ground to a new status quo that will only serve extremism and violence. He called on all world peace-lovers to interfere and coerce the Israeli government to halt all kinds of settlement and other unit-lateral measures running contrary to the international legitimacy.
