Jordan FM and Albanian counterpart hold talks

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs, Nasser Judeh, and his Albanian counterpart, Edmond Panariti, on Tuesday discussed bilateral ties and the latest developments in the Middle East.The ministers also discussed ways to bolster cooperation between the two countries, especially in the economic and investment domains. They reaffirmed the desire of the two countries to improve relations and build upon earlier achievements.They also reviewed the latest developments in Syria and its humanitarian repercussions on Jordan, and called for a peaceful solution to stop the bloodshed and maintain the security, stability and territorial unity of the Arab country.Judeh spoke about Jordan’s efforts to help the peacemaking efforts and initiate direct negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis, so that the two-state solution and establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with east Jerusalem as its capital, in line with international terms of reference, could be achieved.Further, the minister briefed the visiting Albanian official on the reform process in Jordan. In this regard, he pointed to the recent parliamentary elections and consultations to name a prime minister and form a government.The Albanian minister spoke about the latest developments and the outcome of talks on Kosovo. Judeh said Jordanian officials have been following these talks. He also voiced hope that the talks would end in a win-win solution for all the involved parties.Further, Minister Panariti hailed the progress in reforms being made in Jordan. He also underlined the importance of the role played by Jordan at the regional level to ensure security and stability.On the sidelines of the meeting, the two ministers signed a political cooperation and coordination agreement.
