Foreign Minister Nasser Jdueh on Sunday took part in meeting of the Arab Peace Initiative Committee , which was held in the Qatari capital Doha today under the chairmanship of Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hamad Bin Jasem in the presence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. The foreign minister voiced happiness for the recent historic achievement of the Palestinians at the UN, highlighting the importance of building on this Palestinian and Arab achievement. Judeh said the Arab Peace Initiative is important and stressed the need on building on this initiative. He also affirmed Jordan\'s support to efforts designed to bring about Palestinian unity to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians. In remarks during the meeting, the Palestinian president voiced thanks and appreciation for His Majesty King Abdullah for his historic visit to the West Bank town of Ramallah after the UN upgraded Palestine’s status to \"non-member observer state\". The foreign minister also met in Doha with the King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Issa Al Khalifah and discussed means of boosting strategic ties between Jordan and Bahrain.
