Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour received from President of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Samih Bino a copy of the 2011 annual report of the ACC. The commission prepared the report in line with its law and will present it to the Cabinet and the Parliament out of its belief in the principle of transparency. President of the ACC said the commission achieved major accomplishments in 2011 through dealing with dozens of cases that preoccupied public opinion due to their sensitivity and the extent of corruption in these cases. According to the report, the ACC dealt with 714 complaints in 2011 and took legal action that included referring 36 cases to the general prosecutor. The commission also dealt with 43 cases from previous years and referred them to the general prosecution. Three cases were also referred to the Lower House of Parliament as they were related to ministers while 7 others were referred to the State Security prosecutor general as they were considered as economic crimes that harm the Kingdom\'s economy. The prime minister affirmed the government\'s commitment to the Royal directives to confront all corruption cases in a firm and transparent manner and refer them to justice.
