UNHCR officials discuss Syrian refugees in Jordan

Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Tuesday discussed with Andrew Harper, head of the United Nations refugee agency in Jordan, coordination on the conditions of 120,000 Syrians who crossed into the Kingdom as they fled the violence in their country. They discussed health, education and other services Jordan offers to the refugees and the burdens posed to the Kingdom\'s infrastructure. Judeh and Harper, the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees UNHCR representative, agreed that the international community should help Jordan to cope with the influx and provide the needed services. The minister hailed the agency\'s efforts in that respect, noting that Jordan and the UNHCR had built a partnership over the years to deal with crises as the Kingdom had become a springboard for the agency\'s operations in the region. Harper commended the Kingdom\'s services to the Syrian refugees on its territory stressing coordination to address their needs.
