Jordanian leader warns of sectarian, civil war in Syria

King Abdullah II of Jordan has said that time is running out for a political transition in Syria and warned that the failure to reach an end to the crisis soon will lead to a dangerous escalation in sectarian violence that would touch off a full-blown and disastrous civil war whose effects may last for years. King Abdullah has said he believes that the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is unable to change, Petra news agency reported on Monday.
