Khartoum - SUNA

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Ahmed Karti, left Monday on a two-day official visit to Rwanda during which he will hand over a written message from President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, to his Rwandan counterpart, Paul Kagame, on the bilateral relations and the issues of mutual concern. Sudan Ambassador to Rwanda Nasr-Eddin Wali, said to SUNA in a telephone call that the visit aims to consolidation of the relations between the two countries, adding that the minister will hold talks with his Rwandan counterpart. The ambassador explained that signing of agreements on bolstering bilateral relations will take place during the visit, besides establishment of a committee for political consultations between the two countries along with signing of an agreement for starting of the Rwandan Airlines in a direct flight from Kigali to Khartoum. Ambassador Wali went on to say that Karti would also open the building of the Sudanese Embassy in Kigali in the presence of the Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and representatives of the diplomatic missions in Rwanda. He pointed out that the minister would also inaugurate the second phase of the Islamic Guidance Institute, which was established by President Al-Bashir in 2009 for the Muslims in Rwanda and the neighbouring countries.
